Ms Minicozzi serves as Consultant Colorectal and Peritoneal Surgeon at the Royal London Hospital (Barts Health NHS Trust). As lead for colorectal cancer surgery and the MDT, she also established and heads the Multidisciplinary Peritoneal Oncology service. After higher surgical training in Verona, she completed international fellowships in organ preservation for rectal cancer (São Paulo) and advanced/recurrent rectal cancer (Karolinska). Awarded a PhD in 2010 for multimodal imaging research, she became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2014. Her subsequent fellowships included complex cancer, IBD and intestinal failure at St Mark’s, advanced minimally invasive cancer surgery at Peterborough, and Royal London colorectal fellowships. Appointed Consultant in Manchester (2016), she pioneered CRS & HIPEC and exenterative procedures before joining Barts in 2018. As GI early-diagnostic lead and PI of a national PIPAC trial, her clinical and academic work focuses on innovative therapies for advanced colorectal cancer, including organ-preservation strategies and pressurised intraperitoneal aerosolised chemotherapy.
