Mr Ali Alhamdani is one of London’s foremost bariatric and upper-gastrointestinal surgeons, with more than 4 500 weight-loss and revisional procedures performed since 2010 and a zero mortality record. A visiting international expert, he heads a global bariatric multidisciplinary team and is one of only nine surgeons worldwide approved to deliver an Oxford-affiliated international fellowship in obesity surgery. He practises at BUPA Cromwell, Spire Bushey, Weymouth Street and Whittington / UCLH hospitals and is sought after for complex re-do surgery, mini-gastric bypass and keyhole gall-bladder work. Author of the UK’s reference text “Weight Loss Surgery” (now in its third edition), he has produced over 300 peer-reviewed papers and conference presentations.
Mr Alhamdani offers international second opinions and bespoke weight-loss roadmaps; his Oxford-linked fellowship trains the next generation of bariatric surgeons in the UK, Europe and the USA. Renowned for laparoscopic excellence, he routinely performs gastric bypass, sleeve, band and endoscopic revisions with a safety profile among the best documented in Europe.
