Dr Özlem Turan is a specialist registrar (ST7) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology across North-East Thames (London Deanery) and a Clinical Research Fellow at UCL’s EGA Institute for Women’s Health. She leads service improvements in high-risk obstetrics, independently manages complex maternal and gynaecological cases at The Portland Hospital, and is completing a PhD on inherited bleeding disorders in women (viva August 2025).
She earned her MBBS at Barts and The London School of Medicine (2009), BSc (Hons) in Experimental Pathology from Queen Mary University (2007), and MRCOG in 2017. Her surgical repertoire spans abdominal myomectomy, laparoscopic hysterectomy, advanced hysteroscopic procedures (TruClear/Myosure polypectomy and fibroid resection), and endometrial ablation. Dr Turan has secured competitive research funding, published in high-impact journals (e.g., Haemophilia, J Thromb Haemost), peer-reviews for The Lancet Haematology, and regularly presents at international conferences.
